A Luxurious Private Estate Wedding on Bainbridge Island Under a Sailcloth Tent, With Floral Installations and Growing Tablescapes

Trust. A client’s complete trust is like gold in the floral world. The stuff “dream clients” and “ideal clients” are made of! I’d guess most of us would rather have a client’s trust than a huge budget to work with (although no one would frown at that either) or the picture perfect venue. Having the trust of your client (and of course their planner) to understand their vision and carry it out allows us to create something unique and fresh, and that reflects them as a couple. Kyle and Teale, with Callista & Co. at the helm with planning and design, were truly dream clients in this way. They hired us to flower their wedding (and their rehearsal dinner too) and gave us the trust and creative freedom to create something really beautiful!

We used the location of the bride’s parent’s home on the water on Bainbridge Island as a starting point for the flowers, pulling in the true greens of the Pacific Northwest as a base. On top of this, we layered white and cream flowers to marry with tones of the soaring sailcloth tent, the fluffy clouds, and Kyle’s crisp gown, with accents of blue to reflect the water and pink, because, who doesn’t love pink?!

Kyle’s bridesmaids carried petite bouquets, each composed of a single variety of flower: white cosmos, blue tweedia, blushing bride phlox, white scabiosa, and pink cosmos. Each of these flowers was incorporated into Kyle’s bridal bouquet. The boutonnieres were similarly all unique.

The ceremony was set around the sparkling blue pool, with a lush floral arch at the front, hundreds of floating flowers, and rows of clear acrylic chairs. Some guests viewed the ceremony from the “champagne garden” balcony, while sipping on bubbles. Guests moved to the garden for cocktail hour, where they could offer date night ideas and other fun tips by dropping ideas into acrylic boxes filled with flowers.

A bagpiper led guests from the cocktail hour to the reception, where guests entered the sailcloth tent through a grand double floral arch. The center of the tables were filled with a continuous line of rectangular centerpieces, creating a continuous floral tablescape down every table. The colors gradually faded from white to blush to pink to white to blue and back to white as the design progressed, creating a subtle ombre floral effect

Flowers found their homes in many other places around the reception: vines on acrylic signage and up the wooden tent poles, a “tree” arrangement in the middle of the circular bar, bud vases on cocktail tables and catering stations, ‘growing’ arrangements in front of the band and escort card display, and so on. This was one of those days where I thought the flowers might never end (and I loved it!)!

This wedding wouldn’t have been the same without the contributions of each and every vendor who made this day so special. From the incredible stationery, signage, escort card display, and table numbers created by Libby Tipton, to the custom circular bar built by Happy Hour Bar Rentals, from the modern brass chandeliers to the hand crafted cake, these details contributed in big ways to make this a wedding we’ll always remember!

A huge thank you to the incredible talent that came together to create this wedding:
