An Intimate, Garden-Inspired Wedding At Home

Private residence weddings are some of my favorite, and C & X’s was no exception! C dreamed of an old world inspired dinner party, that would transport them and their guests to a scene dining in a French garden. We started with one long wooden farm table, and layered soft blush hand dyed runners over the tables to soften and add some romance. On top of that, we placed potted herbs such as rosemary, oregano, and mint, as well as arrangements overflowing with fruited branches and fragrant summer blooms. Between the pots and vases, we placed cream taper candles on vintage candlesticks, interspersed with clear glass votive candles. Thee detailed chargers and flatware brought a European feel to the table, which we balanced with sleek modern glassware. A jazz band played through their cocktail hour and dinner.

C wore a custom blush silk gown that flowed and draped so elegantly, with lace Jimmy Choo pumps, and they drove between their first look and their ceremony in a vintage Rolls Royce. For their ceremony setup, we placed potted herbs and flowers down the aisle to mimic the feel of a European garden, and placed ‘growing’ arrangements at the altar to frame C & X. They walked down the aisle to their favorite songs played by a harpist.

Of of the most important parts of the day for C was the dessert bar. We went back and forth countless times about how it would be setup, and finally she said that she’d trust us with the execution. We rented a vintage bar, vintage mirrors, and various height trays and platters, upon with Lisa Duper Catering placed fruit, cake, and small desserts. My favorite part of the day was when C saw the dessert display and said it turned out more beautifully than she could have envisioned it! Happy clients make me so happy!
