San Juan Islands Spring Wedding at Roche Harbor Resort
Roche Harbor weddings are always so beautiful, and Kelly & Ryan’s late spring/early summer wedding at Roche was no exception! The resort is nestled on the hill above the historic harbor and is an idyllic setting for weddings. K&R came to me with a romantic, old world inspired vision, in a color palette of dusty lavenders and white, and we had the honor or doing full event design for them in addition to flowers.
Kelly wanted a classically beautiful white and green bouquet, with just a touch of soft lavender. We used white peonies, white ranunculus, white garden roses, spirea, and soft lavender roses, offset with silver poplar and snowberry foliage to create a lush and romantic bouquet, which we finished with Tono & Co. silk ribbon. Kelly’s bridesmaids each wore a slightly different shade of dusty lavender/blush/taupe, and carried smaller posey bouquets.
For the ceremony in the garden at Roche Harbor, we placed low ground arrangements at the front as well as along the back row of chairs. These ‘growing’ arrangements set the stage for the ceremony and complemented Roche’s gardens.
In the Pavilion for the reception, we started with luxe velvet linens in just the right shade of lavender. On these, we layered white porcelain chargers, velvet napkins, and menus with incredible details by The Fancy Cat Studio. A mix of taper and votive candles finished the table design, which added warm glow to the space. Speaking of candles, we filled Roche’s huge walk in fireplace with hurricane candles, which created a magical glow. We used vintage keys with guests names attached on hand calligraphed tags for table assignments.
